- Is there a fee for Mobile Check Deposit?
No. This service is available at no charge to our Personal Online Banking customers.
ELIGIBILITY
- Who is eligible for Mobile Check Deposit?
Mobile Banking App users who have Personal Online Banking access are eligible for the Mobile Check Deposit service.*
*For qualified mobile devices that meet OS and hardware requirements.
- Can businesses use Mobile Check Deposit?
The BWD Mobile Check Deposit is currently only available to those who have Personal Online Banking accounts.
- What if an eligible account is not listed in Mobile Check Deposit?
You can determine which of your eligible accounts will be enrolled in Mobile Check Deposit. If you believe you have an eligible account that has not been enabled, please contact electronic banking support at 608-253-1111.
DEPOSITING MY CHECK
- Do I photograph both the front and the back of my check?
Yes. During the deposit process, you will be required to photograph both the front and the back of the check you wish to deposit.
- What could cause issues with my check photo?
Shadows, creases and image quality are the number one issues when photographing your check for mobile deposit. It is also important to make sure the entire check and nothing else is included in the image.
- Do you have any suggestions for taking the check photo?
It is recommended that you take the photo in a well-lit area that is free of any clutter. Keep your hands clear of the check while taking the photo and try to use bright, indirect light. It is also helpful to use a contrasting solid surface/background.
- What is the proper way to endorse my check?
Each check must include:

- A legible payee signature
- The words “Mobile Deposit”
Please note: If the back of the check is not properly endorsed, the deposit will be rejected.
- What is the proper way to endorse a third party check?
Each third party check must include:
- A legible payee signature
- The words “Mobile Deposit” and payable to”
- A legible signature of the third party payee

- Are there any limits on the dollar amount of deposits I can submit?
Yes. You may deposit up to $2,500.00 per day. Any items presented in excess of this amount will be rejected.
- What types of checks can I deposit with Mobile Check Deposit?
Only single-party domestic checks made payable to the owner(s) of the account may be deposited and limited third party checks that are properly endorsed.The following is a list of items that mayNOT be deposited using our Mobile Check Deposit service:
- Items payable to any person or entity other than you, unless properly endorsed.
- Items that are substitute checks or image replacement documents.
- Items drawn on a financial institution located outside the United States.
- Items containing obvious alteration to any of the fields on the front of the Item, or which you know or suspect, or should know or suspect, are fraudulent or otherwise not authorized by the owner of the account on which the Item is drawn.
- Items prohibited by our current procedures relating to Mobile Check Deposit or which are otherwise not acceptable under the terms of your checking, savings or money market account.
- Checks payable jointly, unless deposited into an account in the name of all payees.
- Checks that are remotely created checks, as defined in Reg. CC.
- Checks not payable in United States currency.
- Checks dated more than 6 months prior to the date of deposit.
- Checks that have previously been submitted through Mobile Check Deposit or through a remote deposit capture service offered at any other financial institution.
- Checks that have been dishonored or returned to you unpaid for any reason.
- How will I know BWD has received my deposit?
A message will be displayed within the deposit screen stating that your deposit is pending. Pending deposits will be reviewed by bank personnel for approval. - How will I know whether my mobile deposit has been approved or rejected?
Mobile deposits that have been approved prior to cutoff time will show in your Deposit History at the end of the business day as “Approved”. They will also show up in your account transaction history with a description of Mobile Deposit.Mobile deposits that have been rejected by the bank will show in your Deposit History as “Failed”. You will be notified by bank personnel with the reason for the rejection.
ACCOUNT POSTING
- When will my deposit post to my account?
If we receive your mobile deposit before 4:00 p.m. Central Time on a business day, subject to review, it will post to your account by the end of that business day.If we receive your mobile deposit after 4:00 p.m. Central Time or on a weekend or on a non- business day, subject to review, it will post to your account by the end of the next business day.For purposes of the Mobile Check Deposit service, “business days” are Monday through Friday, except federal holidays and Christmas Eve.
PAPER CHECK/RECORDS
- What should I do with my check after completing a mobile deposit?
We recommend you safeguard and keep your check for fifteen (15) business days after it has posted to your account. - What should I do with my check after I have confirmed the deposit has posted to my account, and have waited the fifteen (15) business days?
We recommend that you properly dispose of the check to ensure it is not deposited again.
- How long will I be able to access records on my mobile deposit?
Through your mobile banking app, you will have access to all of your mobile deposit images for 30 days.
